We are pleased to announce the successful completion of a new specialist provision at Howard Primary School, Dungannon, delivered on behalf of the Education Authority.
This purpose-built modular facility was designed to provide a modern, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The project encompassed the full design, manufacture, delivery, installation, and fit-out of the building, with all modular units constructed off-site before being transported, craned into position, and seamlessly assembled on site. By adopting an off-site construction approach, the project was delivered efficiently while minimising disruption to the existing school during the build programme.
Location
The completed accommodation includes specialist classrooms, toilet facilities, hygiene rooms, sensory rooms, resource areas, breakout spaces, and a dedicated staff room. Every aspect of the building has been carefully designed and finished to a high standard, creating a welcoming environment that supports learning, wellbeing, and accessibility.
In addition to the building itself, the project included significant external works to enhance the surrounding school grounds. These works comprised site preparation, the construction of a Maccaferri retaining wall, a large covered play area, upgraded playground facilities, specialist play equipment, footpaths, and associated landscaping, ensuring the new provision integrates seamlessly with the existing school campus.
From initial design through to final handover, close collaboration with the Education Authority and the wider project team ensured the completed facility met the specific needs of the school while maintaining the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
