Providing Sustainable Solutions for the Education Sector
Riverside School is a school for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Some pupils may have additional physical and / or sensory impairments. Pupils between the ages of 4 years and 19 years attend on a daily basis following the same schedule of school terms as mainstream schools.
Classroom staff use different teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each pupil, eg sensory stimulation, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH), behaviour management, Makaton sign language, medical needs, etc.

Standard and Cleaning Storage
Ample storage space was integrated, providing staff with cleaning equipment rooms as well as classroom storage to keep supplies neat and secure.
Welfare Facilities
Inclusivity and accessibility were key in our designing process. We included male, female (Staff and Children) toilets along one side of the main corridor splitting the build.
Exterior Soft Play Area
An outdoor play area with a sheltered canopy and soft play, secured by gated fencing surrounding the perimeter.
Technology
Equipped with the necessary technological amenities; fire alarm systems for safety and interactive whiteboards to engage students.
